The Law Offices of Paul A. Lange, LLC’s employment law practice focuses on defending employers from employment related claims, enforcing non-compete agreements and restrictive covenants and counseling aviation employers in a multidisciplinary approach. Alison L. Squiccimarro (née Mckay) leads the Law Offices of Paul A. Lange, LLC’s employment law practice, which includes:

  • defending employers from discrimination claims (including age, disability, pregnancy, religion, race, gender, gender identity and sexual orientation) in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies (including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights (CHRO));
  • defending employers from whistleblower and retaliation claims (including those arising under the Wendall H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century (Air21) in the state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies;
  • defending retailers against claims by employees for false arrest, malicious prosecution, and conspiracy under 28 U.S.C 1983;
  • drafting, negotiating, and successfully litigating severance agreements, employment contracts, and confidentiality/ non-compete/ non-solicitation agreements;
  • enforcing confidentiality/non-compete agreements/restrictive covenants (including seeking preliminary injunctions in state and federal courts where necessary);
  • advising employers regarding the implementation of employment policies and training programs;
  • advising employers regarding compliance with state and federal labor laws;
  • counseling employers on risk mitigation when terminating employees;
  • counseling aviation employers on compliance with the mandates of the Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 (PRIA); and
  • assisting employers conducting investigations into employee complaints and implementing policies to reduce exposure to future claims.
