“Federal law prohibits air carriers, their contractors and subcontractors from retaliating against employees providing air safety information. See 49 U.S.C. § 42121, Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century (AIR 21). In 2013 the United State Department of Labor received 88 complaints from employees of Air Carriers and their contractors alleging that the employees were retaliated against for providing safety information. This does not account for all the employees who make confidential reports directly to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) asserting that their employers are violating the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)”
